On the occasion of 18th May 2014 Somaliland Society in Europe (SSE) wants to extends their heartfelt wishes to all the nationals of the Republic of Somaliland, both in the diaspora and inside country.
It is a great opportunity that Somaliland and friends of Somaliland will be coming together once again in many places in the Diaspora as well as in Somaliland to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of Somaliland. Somaliland diaspora communities in Europe, North America, Asia and Africa are organising celebration events.
It is a day Somalilanders speak with one voice to remind the International Community of their aspiration to join the League of Nations. SSE calls on the International Community to reward Somaliland for what they have achieved over the past 23 years.
The call for recognition of Somaliland as a sovereign state is in the interest of the international community. For a recognized Somaliland would certainly play an important role in the reconciliation of the factions in Somalia and it will contribute to the stability of the volatile region of the Horn of Africa.
